President's Message

Fellow Rotarians,

How do we develop a vibrant Rotary community that is united in its commitment to service, fellowship, and making a positive difference in the world?  I am often touched when we do the “good of the order” and someone simply proclaims “Rotary Love”, while making a donation. It is a direct proclamation of the strength of our growing community. Through regular meetings, social events, and service projects we are fostering strong relationships among members.  Our weekly gatherings and monthly fellowship events work toward that end.

In the past year we have identified a more clearly defined purpose and mission of our Rotary community.  It was one that already existed in the ongoing projects but was brought into sharper focus.  We support health, education and leadership development in youth.  Our Rotary community joins in unity to support these service goals.  Much of our service work is in the form of financial support.  However, we also work together on projects, (Apple Dumpling for example) that require active participation. We develop Rotary community by spending time together improving our city and the world.  In the next year we will work to create more of those opportunities for service and fellowship.

Friendship. Our community depends on being friends both within Rotary and beyond. We encourage networking and collaboration to strengthen bonds within the Rotary community.  I know in my life the contacts I’ve made through Rotary have been essential to the many personal endeavors I’ve taken on.  People I’ve met through Rotary are now cherished friends.

Our Rotary community is based on core values: service, integrity, diversity, leadership, and fellowship. As Rotarians we embody these values in our actions and interactions within the community and beyond. In this way we show others we are a community of Rotary Love and one someone would want to join.

Yours in Service,

Matt Kubik
