Our Club is about to start two projects, in keeping with Rotary's mottos of Service Above Self, We are People of Action, and Serve to Change Lives.

The first project will be a Covid-19 County Immunization Day (CID) similar to the National Immunization Days (NID) conducted world-wide by Rotary to distribute the polio vaccine.  This project will be in conjunction with the Michigan City Area Schools' (MCAS) Back to School Rally on August 14th.

Working as a subcommittee of the ourshotlpc.com vaccination support group, Rotary will be supporting the MCAS, the County Visitors Bureau, HealthLinc Inc. and the La Porte County Health Department to encourage unvaccinated members of La Porte County to receive the Covid-19 vaccine.

Come to the August 5th meeting to learn more about how you may participate in this important community project.  And then sign-up for a slot here.

The second project is the revival of the STRIVE mentoring program which builds confidence in high school students who are the first generation in their family to go to college.

At the beginning of each year new students are admitted to the STRIVE program. The Core Mentor Committee will choose new students in the following priority sequence: Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior. The intent is to bring students into the program who will benefit from the most years of membership possible, including mentor partnership for up to 4 years, and the cumulative general support the program and mentors provide.

Come to the July 15th meeting to learn more about this exciting youth development project.
