La Porte County Sheriff's Office

A lifelong LaPorte County resident, Ron been with the Sheriff's Office for 23 years, where he currently holds the position of Chief Deputy. He was member of the dive and rescue team, the Emergency Response Team, and served as a Field Training Officer.

Ron attended Indiana University South Bend with an associate degree in criminal justice. He is also a graduate of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy, Leadership LaPorte County, a graduate of the University of Louisville’s Southern Police Institute, and have been accepted to attend the 281st class of the FBI National Academy.

He serves on the Board of Directors for Grand Heritage Federal Credit Union, Indiana Department of Homeland Security District 1 Taskforce, LaPorte County Triad, and Stepping Stone Shelter for Women. He hosts a monthly radio show on WIMS AM-1420 called “Chief’s Chatter”. Ron's wife, Heather, is a nurse at Franciscan Health Michigan City. They have two daughters Olivia (11) and Allison (8).
