Lauren has been trained in Functional Family Therapy which is also an evidence-based practice model.
Lauren has worked in a myriad of different positions and types of work prior to gaining her focus and passion for working with people. She began her career in mental health working at various women’s shelters in the area and working on their crisis lines. She then went on to work with youth and their families in the foster care arena. Lauren decided then she needed to be able to do more and began providing home-based therapy to youth and their families who were court ordered to participate. She has provided therapy in the school, setting, home based setting and outpatient setting.

She considers herself a generalist having experience working with a wide age range of clientele, backgrounds and presenting concerns. Lauren has compassion for others and is genuinely concerned about making an impact on others and assisting them with skills and understanding to move one towards a greater satisfaction in life. She utilizes humor in her work and is also willing to assist others from a faith-based perspective to bring about a better quality of life for themselves. Lauren has served as an adjunct professor at Indiana Wesleyan University since 2009.
