Meeting Location
We are meeting at 11:45am in the banquet room at Patrick's Grille. We have taken all precautions against COVID-19 recommended by the CDC, local government, and state health officials.  Lunch will be served plated not buffet. We will be meeting with the appropriate social distancing. We will be accepting credit cards for lunch, the queen drawing, "feed the pig", and the eyeglasses programs.  Face masks are mandatory and hand cleaner will be available.  I hope all these precautions will enable you to attend and share in fellowship with your fellow Rotarians.

Seating is limited to 25 so we will be holding this meeting as a "Hybrid Meeting" meaning we will also be online via WebEx at https://bit.ly/rotary3376mtg and/or by phone at 312-535-8110 access code: 126 188 3153.

In order to let Patrick's Grille know how many lunches to prepare for the meeting we need you to fill out the RSVP form located at https://bit.ly/3lQwsn1.  Cost for lunch at the door will be $15.00.

Boo at the Zoo
This year's BOO will continue to be "merry, but not too scary" with lots of fun for the whole family, plus some COVID-19 safety measures.  This year’s Boo will be held over three days instead of one, the Zoo will be requiring timed entry reservations, and instead of trick or treat stations around the Zoo, they will be handing out pre-packaged treat bags to the kids as they exit the Zoo, to stay safe and limit contact.

Our club will donate funds so the Zoo can purchase the candy assortment and pre-package the candy into treat bags that will be handed out as the kids exit the Zoo from their visit on October 24th and October 25th, as well as on October 31st and Nov 1st if candy supplies last.

We have committed to donating $300 to the Zoo.  So, if you can, please send a check with your donation payable to MC Rotary, P.O. Box 9372, Michigan City, IN 46361-9372.  Be sure to indicate the check is for the Boo at the Zoo project. If you would rather pay online, click here to donate for the Boo at the Zoo.

Thanksgiving Dinner via the Salvation Army
This year the Salvation Army plans to have meals boxed and delivered to seniors, disabled and homebound people; and host a drive-through system for people to pick up boxed meals from noon to 1pm.  They will not have guests in their building has they have in the past.

However, we still need to supply the turkeys and hams as we have done in the past.  We need about $1,000 to pay for the turkeys and hams.  We currently only have around $300 due to not meeting face to face where the Piggy Banks are on the tables.  So, if you can, please send a check with your donation payable to MC Rotary, P.O. Box 9372, Michigan City, IN 46361-9372.  Be sure to indicate the check is for the Feed the Pig project. If you would rather pay online, click here to "Feed the Pig".

Also, we do still need volunteers on Thanksgiving Day for:
  1. 09:00 am - Transporting turkeys and hams from Blue Chip to The Salvation Army
  2. 10:30 am - Boxing the meals
  3. 11:00 am - Delivering meals to client homes (delivery drivers need to pre-screen, so if any Rotarians are interested, they can contact the Salvation Army office (219-874-6885) prior to Thanksgiving so they can do a background check).
  4. 12:00 pm - Distributing the meals
To volunteer click on Sign Up to view available slots and book yourself directly online.

Finally
To suggest topics for training or service opportunities, or to tell me how we can improve your participation in the club, please use the Suggestion Box on the navigation menu above.

If you haven't attended for a while, know that you are missed.  I hope to see all of you on Thursday.
